It’s here, finally, after months and
months of planning we are finally going on our diving trip to
Scotland
!
After weeks of raining in the South of
England, the sun is finally shining and the weather reports are in general good,
apart from
Scotland
(of course). We travel the 62,500 miles to The Sound of Mull in The Katrinabus™
(stuffed
full of gear and a few divers) and a nice shiny 4x4 (stuffed with divers
and a tank or two). The journey is broken by stops to visit family on the
way up.
The first (and only) bad traffic is on the
M40 and we get diverted around Coventry. Poor Adam is petrified that we have to go near to
Birmingham. Unfortunately we never find out exactly what about Brum terrifies the man, but
as we establish over and over again over the next few days, the man is an
enigma!
The drive is nice and relaxed and apart from
really bad food options at our chosen service stop there nothing to write home
about. When we enter Scotland
Mr Fyfe sheds a little tear.
When we arrive in Crieff (to visit his
parents) Keith gives us a full guided tour – this includes him stalling the
car four times in 90 seconds as well as driving through a red light in front of
the Town Hall. The Boy is back in Town.
After a nice dinner and a walk we all hit
the sack to be ready for the next day’s adventure.
We know that Katrinabus™ arrives safely in
Liverpool
(to visit Katrina's sister) and Chris spends the night in a delightfully pink
girls room. Lovely!
